Tops Loner fixed blade
I recently purchased this knife, and find it to be nothing short of superb. Its dull green micarta grips are attached with torx screws, and the grips’ jimping (spine, at the grips’ leading edge, and just ahead of the lanyard hole on the grips’ underside) match the same grip-enhancing deep cross hatching on the blade. You get a solid grip on this knife, and it stays in your hand. The lanyard aperture will accept paracord or a nylon strap, and the full tang extends beyond the butt end of the grip for a formidable striking surface. The blade’s main edge has a deep belly, which makes for plenty of slashing ability but will also be put to work as a skinner this fall. The Loner’s spine is straight, and fully sharpened. This is not a false edge- it’s as sharp as the main curved edge. The sheath is black kydex, perfectly fitted, with lacing holes. It has a very solid steel belt clip, and the knife’s grip is accessible yet shows no likelihood of the knife dropping loose. I prefer the ice pick grip for defensive training, and carry this on my (non dominant) left side, edge forward. This knife’s blade is non-reflective black powder finished. The blade tip is remarkably substantial, unlike the tips of many other double edged designs. The Loner is all go, no show. Its beauty is in its utter practicality and outstanding materials. I have been carrying this around my farm and using it in our woods, yet it also accompanies me on trips into urban areas. If you have any need for an everyday carry knife that is superbly designed and flawlessly built, buy this knife! You will not regret it.
