I bought one of these as an extra to throw into my hunting backpack. Decided to give it a try field dressing an elk. Nice and sharp out of the box. No complaints...knife did what it was supposed to do on the whole job. I always use a small knife steel in the field to touch up any knife every so often. Didn't find myself having doing any more touch ups with the steel than usual. Handle was indeed "grippy" and comfortable. I'm not disappointed.
