Most knives in the Ontario Randall Fixed series utilize high carbon steels like 1095 and 1075, though select models feature premium CPM-S35VN stainless steel. Carbon steels provide the extreme toughness and easy field sharpening needed for demanding survival tasks, while stainless options deliver greater edge retention and corrosion resistance for wet conditions and camp food preparation.

The lineup spans compact belt knives to full-size field knives, ranging from 3-inch cutting edges up to 7-inch blades. Smaller options include specialized RAT-3 variants like caper, skinner, and chisel-tip utility profiles, while larger tools like the TAK-1, RAT-5, and RAT-7 are built for heavier camp utility and wood processing.

Durable canvas Micarta is the primary handle material across the Ontario Randall Fixed series, with select models offering stabilized hardwood scales. Micarta provides a secure, textured grip that remains reliable even when wet, making it well-suited for extended work in rough weather.

The knives in this lineup from Ontario Knives are made in the United States, while their accompanying sheaths are imported. Most models include a heavy-duty nylon sheath with MOLLE compatibility and an ambidextrous retention system, or a fitted leather sheath on select hunting styles.

Carbon steel blades require cleaning, thorough drying, and a light coat of protective oil after use to prevent surface rust. Even though Ontario applies a durable protective coating across the blade flats, the exposed edge steel will oxidize if left damp or stored long-term inside a sheath.
