The Qubit is an easy-carrying crowd-pleaser that really hits all the marks for a utility EDC knife. First, the fairly symmetrical drop point blade is a hair under three inches. Great Knife at This Price
Quite surprised how nice this knife is. As a EDC, my closest comparison is my Benchmade Bugout. It’s slightly heavier than a Bugout, but still so light I don’t notice it in my pocket. The aluminum scales are smooth, with rounded edges, and they feel solid, unlike many plastic scales. They work great unless my hands are wet. Then they are a bit slick. My favorite part is the blade. Its drop point shape gives it flexibility in use. It’s made of Sandvik 14C28N, an often underrated steel that is very corrosion resistant (important when you left near a salt water shore), very tough, and easy to sharpen. No, it doesn’t hold an edge as well as some other steels, but that’s a worthwhile tradeoff for it’s strengths. My only minor complaint is the finger choil. It isn’t deep enough for me to use comfortably, as my finger is just too close to the sharpened edge. Overall, it’s a great knife at a reasonable price.

One of my favorite Civivi's
Last week I got in the new Civivi Altus in blue/grey aluminum scales and then this model came the next day. I prefer the Civivi Qubit in bright blue aluminum scales over the Altus because its more fidgety, has a better detent, the button lock is more drop shutty, and I have zero lock stick. The bright blue aluminum scales on this knife are also more attractive and vibrant than the Altus. I also prefer the broader thinner blade of this knife over the Altus. The Qubit (the only dumb thing - the name - about this knife) is a winner, and one of the few Civivi's I've bought that is complete winner in all aspects of its design and execution. This quickly zoomed up into my top 20 favorite knives in my 240 plus knife collection.

Lock stick!
I really wanted to like this knife. The shape of the handle and blade, plus the overall size, are great for my EDC use. But ultimately, the action was just too annoying for me. Out of the box, the button is "sticky" and the blade bounces back up when I close it. So I'll be returning this one, unfortunately.
