CIVC803I: C803I Praxis Folding Knife - Copper Shred Carbon Fiber

CIVIVI Knives

CIVIVI Knives are the kind that you give as a gift to a friend, whether or not they're into knives. Anyone will feel the quality and attention to detail as soon as they pick one up yet their price points will signify that these knives are built to be used. As direct competitors against the Spyderco Tenacious and Ontario RAT 1, it's honestly no comparison and we definitely know which is the best choice. Considering the materials are comparable, the amazing action that CIVIVI Knives possesses makes them the knives to beat in terms of the value folding market.

The Praxis is the kind of knife you'd want if you literally only had one knife. It has the reach and strength you need in a tactical folding knife while the ergonomic grip makes for a sure hold in any weather conditions. Add in the fact that it's a darn good looking folder and you have a recipe for success and an extremely versatile blade to boot. The 3.75" flat ground drop point blade is made of 9Cr18M0V stainless steel and rides on ceramic ball bearings for the smoothest action possible while maintaining this incredible price point. The handle is shredded carbon fiber and copper in resin over full stainless steel liners with a reversible deep-carry tip-up pocket clip. It's ergonomic, fast, and functional - designed to appeal to the masses and we think CIVIVI has definitely done that. We are excited about this subset brand of We Knife Company, they're poised to take over the value knife market and we're glad to be along for the ride.

Cons: None
This is a really nice knife and that's puzzling.
Like I said this knife is rather puzzling to me. On one hand it has a really nice blade shape. Feels great in the hand and is easy to deploy. It's a liner lock but it's a really nice liner lock. It fits squarely into the economy knife category but it has a really refined feel. 9cr18 steel is actually really good! Much much better than 8cr cr** which I avoid like the plague. Honestly I don't understand Spyderco using it for their Chinese knives which you have to sharpen daily and which I have thrown away. So it doesn't make sense that Civivi upgraded the handle but they did and it's eye catching and awesome! Normally you upgrade heavy hitter knives like the Cold Steel AD20.5 or more expensive Viper knives or US made Spyderco knives. Or maybe this kind of carbon fiber is just super cheap. I don't know. Anyway it's an economy knife that looks great and works well!
