When looking for an EDC knife, one of the most important considerations is accessibility to bring the knife to bear quickly, and none can perform that function as well as the Mini Pyrite. The Mini Pyrite uses a combination of its button lock mechanism with ceramic ball bearings in the pivot to make this knife quick to deploy and always ready in hand. The smooth action allows the blade to be flicked open with one hand with a press of the button lock or a flick of the thumb slot. This knife can easily double as a fidget toy with how much fun it is to use and how easily it travels with you. The blade is made from AR-RPM9, a proprietary steel that compares to D2 steel with an advantage in corrosion resistance. The handles are comfortable to hold and fit well in the hand thanks to its gentle curve and bevel designed to accommodate the index finger. The Mini Pyrite comes with a reversible deep carry stainless steel pocket clip that allows it to be discreetly carried with you wherever you may go.

My favorite EDC so far
Opening, the button is nice the actual pivot is a bit stiff out of the box if you don’t adjust it but that can be a pro in a Jurisdiction that restricts against gravity assist. It’s sharp and pointy for piercing with a slight curve on the spine near the point for running upside down to protect package contents. The lanyard hole is a fully enclosed tube which is nice to protect it from the blade. The pocket clip is slim and unassuming and completely hides the handle from view in my front pocket. The whole thing is small enough to fit in my coin pocket and I barely notice it’s there. A drop point version might be nice if they ever make that. No thumb studs to get caught on anything is a plus although I do wish it had a flipper tab
