Take this one for a ride. With a handle that hints at tire tread and the incredibly fast OutBurst spring assisted opening mechanism, take one look at the Burnout everyday carry folding knife and you can practically smell the burning rubber.
MJ Lerch set out to design a knife with serious flow in her shop in Sussex, Wisconsin. The seamless transition from the black stonewashed clip point blade to the handle is proof that she hit the mark. A slim, understated stainless steel-built back of the handle is in stark contrast to the front. One layer of textured black carbon fiber sits atop a G10 base for excellent grip and a pedal-to-the-floor aesthetic. Open it 30 degrees and OutBurst springs to life and stays steadily in place with a frame lock. When closed, the internal mechanism holds the blade securely in place.

How OutBurst Assisted Opening Works
Simply manually open the blade up to 30 degrees and the patented OutBurst assisted opening mechanism springs the knife fully open so that you're good to go. The powerful spring also holds the blade securely closed when not in use.

Frame Lock
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.

I just got the 2 knives I ordered and really like how they look and feel in my hand. And while the blade shape and sharpness is good BUT that is where it ends ! The assisted opener doesn't work and only gets the blade about 1/2 way open and then I either need to further use the thumb studs to finish opening the blade or to try and flick the blade to finish opening it ! I would not want to be in a position where I would need to use this knife in an emergency and have this problem. I have other assisted opening knives and this is the first knife that I have had this issue with. So IF you want to get this knife I would just use it as a basic work / carry knife and not rely it as an assisted opener / back up / emergency type knife !

I just bought this knife and I am very impressed with it! Extremely sharp and has a handle big enough for extra large hands. I don't know why one of the fellows had trouble opening it, but maybe he needs to work with hands more.... The mat finish keeps it from glaring and it opens very quickly!

Great knife. Nicely crafted. VERY difficult to open! Thumb studs location doesn’t allow you to ply the leverage needed to activate the assisted opening mechanism. Can’t open it one-handed. Shame, nice knife in every other regard. Can’t count on it in a hurry.
