Unpolised (somewhat polished) spine (not) Perfect for fire starter
Had Morakniv had not advertised the spine being "Ground, unpolished spine Perfect for fire starter" I'd given it a 5+ but the spine of the one I just opened is by no means "perfect for fire starter" as marketing tells us. And yes, I struck my ferrocerium rod with it; completely unsuccessfully, there's no "bight" at all. The edges of the spine are quite nicely smooth. Excellent appearance not what you'd expect of a knife at this price point. The one I received passed the first paper test with the included test strip (shipping receipt:)I typically don't "recommend" "any" products and won't this one either but I must say, compared with the many other knives I have, I expect this one to fit right end and be a keeper. I haven't had a chance to run it through it's paces but already have a feeling if it performs as I expect, I would immediately replace it with another one should I loose or otherwise be divested of this Mora companion carbon. I just like it.
