The ROK, designed by Molletta Design and developed by LionSteel, features two important innovations. First, it introduces the H.WAYL System, a LionSteel patent that allows the clip to ride flush to the frame while using the knife and can be pulled out only when needed. This makes for an extremely comfortable knife to hold and to use.
The second innovation is the NFC technology, which LionSteel added to the knife box. This way, you do not need to look for more information about the product, but the knife itself will give them to you. Care instructions, details about how it was built, or general information regarding LionSteel can all be found by scanning the NFC chip on the box.
Like the TRE, the ROK has the option to take the flipper away in order to have a knife that can be opened with one or two hands. This knife has LionSteel's signature solid aluminum handle with the Rotoblock safety system. The locking bar is reinforced by a stainless tip so it can't be damaged by the blade. The blade is made of M390 steel from Bohler, obtained with powdering technology, with a 59-60 Rockwell hardness. It's a knife built to withstand tough use and abuse and look good enough for a night out on the town.

Well built, rugged. Having removable flipper useful as flipper is ineffective in deployment of blade. One handed operation requires active wrist action while using flipper. Loosening pivot in order to come close to one hand opening results in excessive blade side to side play. This knife is really a two handed open and close only. Perhaps with use over time the action may relax enough for effective one hand open and close. The deployable pocket clip works very well and is as usable as advertised. The blade is extremely sharp and made from quality steel. Handling is very agreeable for my hands (large). But be advised it will not operate as demonstrated on flip view. Time will tell.
