LionSteel

Just like its bigger brother, the M7, the T5 tactical/camping fixed blade is a beast - but a tame beast at that. LionSteel's goal was to build a good multi-purpose field knife that was comfortable to use without being over-cumbersome and we think they've more than achieved this. The 5.04" blade is an intimidating piece of steel when unsheathed yet surprisingly easy to carry when not. The single-piece Micarta handle is extremely well done, locks the knife into your hand perfectly, and is very comfortable to use for an extended period of time. Knife comes with a beautiful black leather belt sheath with MOLLE compatible backing.

About the Designer Molletta - Pensato Michele

Michele Pensato - aka 'molletta', his nickname in Italian - is a very active designer with years of experience. His previous life as an excursion lover and a passion for archaeology had him spending most of his experiences in the great outdoors, where he soon got to understand how a great knife should really be and what it should be capable of achieving. He led the Nexus Production Group and the group that was created at the MCKF forum. A keen student of the steel industry, he stands out for his new approach to the use of materials and experimentation in thermal treatment applications. An advanced user of design software such as Catia, SOLIDWORKS and Inventor, he applies FEA simulations to his design and aims to create solid and innovative products.

Dissapointing QC - beware the black finish
Ordered the T5B, which is supposed to be a stonewash black finish as seen in any of the stock pictures I've seen for this model. Unfortunately the blade I received was so dark that it was pretty much pure black. Disappointing introduction to the brand, given that this finish costs extra. Still debating whether to return this or not, but the blade is very nice otherwise. Beautiful design, and the ergonomics of the handle are fantastic.

One of those rare finds
This is an incredible knife. Superb quality materials and craftsmanship. The balance of the knife is perfect, and the handle fits in my hand as if it were custom made. Heavy duty materials yet it feels incredibly light in the hand. Niolox steel, one piece micarta grip, and a beautiful leather sheath.This has replaced my old camping knife (Esee 5), which I never thought would be possible. Light enough for bush crafting and strong enough for such tasks as batoning firewood. Any list of "best knives for camping/bushcrafting/survival that does not list this tool is simply an incomplete list. This knife is sharp, tough, nimble in the hand, and ruggedly beautiful. Buy this knife. Right now. You will not be disappointed.
