TOPS Knives

Marble's has been around since the late 1800s and produced many iconic knives/hatchets over the years. When they approached TOPS to do a modern “TOPS-ified” version of the Woodcraft, TOPS was happy to oblige. After all, it's not every day you get approached to do a re-make of a knife design that is over 100 years old.

Marble's  versions of the woodcraft mostly included stacked leather handles and metal bolsters. Neither of those features are seen on TOPS' designs usually. So, Leo's way of mimicking the look was to use two different colors of Micarta and inset one piece into the other. The TOPS version also includes Midnight Bronze Cerakote as a great compliment to the handle. The sheath was designed to match with the old-school “cowboy” sheaths that had leather cover most of the handle to protect the knife from getting scratched up or snagging while going through thick brush. The dimensions and design are as close to the Marble's version as possible but bring this knife new life. Still a classic design that is great for hunting, camping, and of course, Woodcraft chores.

Great looking, great using.
The materials used on this knife are excellent. The style looks great and you can tell this is a quality knife. It is a very unique looking blade and it strongly resembles the Marble's Woodcraft. It is very comfortable to hold while using it for tasks. The sheath is very high quality too.I highly recommend this knife to both collectors and users.

Sad, Happy, Excited, Scared...
So as many of you know when it comes to family and friends sharing your hobby is often a lonely task. My wife, when asked the proverbial "what do you think?", is usually of the: "I don't get it...it's alright...you bought another one?," crowd,. This time however, there is no pre discussion. She picks it up, takes it out, starts admiring it, and then says to me: "Is this new?" "Yes." "This one is really nice." "it looks rustic and it feels really good." Sad, happy, excited, and scared, all at the same time. Why? It's now my Wife's knife. (Sad)Yet I finally got that response that I've been waiting for. (Happy)The grip is hours long comfortable and just as Tops intended, this is a modern take on an iconic ("rustic") classic. And I get another emergency whistle!
