Morakniv

The Basic 511, with its carbon steel blade, is one of Morakniv's most used and appreciated craft knives. The 2018 Edition is produced in a unique color combination: black and desert tan.

The solid finger guard optimizes safety and the larger-shaped handle makes the knife sit even better in your hand. The blade is made of high-quality carbon steel which is easy to re-sharpen so you can use it over and over again. Knife Center wishes to reminds you that carbon steel can be affected by moisture and corrosive environments, so be sure to make it a habit of wiping your knife and oiling the blade after each use.

This knife is designed and intended for Scandinavian construction workers. Morakniv's priority is a sharp and durable edge with a good grip, which means that the look of the spine isn't a high priority feature. You are more than welcome to use any of these knives for your intended needs, but keep in mind that the spine will be "raw" (not grinded) on most craftsman and construction knives. Therefore, it's not compatible with a fire starter.

2018 edition basic 511
I added this basic 511 to my recent Knife Center order as I have been looking for a good every day carry, multi purpose work knife. I didn't know what to expect from a knife costing less than ten bucks but figured it was worth a chance since my past experiences with Mora knives has been very good. This knife is a happy surprise. The carbon Scandi grind blade is flawless. Not a scratch, nick or burr. Best of all, the blade is truly razor sharp. I have tested it and it cuts paper super slick and clean. The blade is beautifully polished. The spine is a little rough, but what the heck. It is after all a work knife.. The carbon blade will be easy to sharpen if and when necessary. In the meantime a thin coat of oil every now and the should keep the blade ok.This knife is a great buy. I intend to order a couple more to give as gifts before Mora finds out that they have underpriced this model... .
