Wonderful Surprise
I use this knife for general camping, serious bush-craft and hunting. For me, there is a reason to use "super steels" like this M390. It offers the ability to prep camp AND skin an animal effortlessly without having to sharpen it in between tasks. There's nothing worse than having to pause to sharpen my knife when a list of tasks lies before me and the sun is quickly setting. If you want to mess around with cheap throw away knives that's your business. I'll take M390 hardened to 59-60 HRC thank you very much.Beyond the blade, the fit and finish is superb. I like the contoured spine as it blends with the micarta scales offering all day comfort. I don't need every spine on every knife to be sharpened for fire striking duties. Comfort is a premium when in the bush and ill take it when I can get it.The balance is perfect and promotes ease of cutting and whittling. I find myself constantly wanting to pick it up and handle it while in camp. I carry other knives for specific tasks but I find myself gravitating to the M4 CVN to do it all and I believe the balance and comfort are the reason. Finally the size is perfect for carrying on the hip and handling with confidence. The sheath is durable, good looking and well constructed. This is my favorite "do-it-all" bush-crafting/camping/skinning knife.
