Fallkniven

The Fallkniven X-knife is the strongest and sharpest stainless steel knives in production. If your life is in danger, you can always rely on your X-knife. It is designed to withstand all the stresses applied by the human hand, which means that it is virtually indestructible. It assumes, however, that you are careful with the knife and that it is used as intended, namely as a sharp precision tool. A knife of this kind is of course not a throwing knife, nor is it particularly good at splitting wood – for those functions, you'll find an axe to be both better and cheaper. The black coating on the blade offers exceptional resilience with a hardness of 83HRC, giving this knife increased longevity.

The basis of the X-knife's strength lies in the laminated cobalt steel, and also in the well-thought-out construction in which break zones have been eliminated. Together with the hand-shaped convex edge, the X-knife is a concept that beats everything else in the world in terms of safety and comfort.

Everything That's Needed; nothing That's Not
What's not to love about this beautiful and simple knife? It's simple very strong, and sharp. Fallkniven cautions against using it for splitting wood, but why. It looks toi be great for that purpose, and who wants to carry a heavy axe?I bought this for backwoods use, sort of a 'when all else fails" tool . It's easy to carry, and I love the locking mechanism on the sheath.This X- knife is a beast, but it's also a beauty. It has everything one needs (strength, sharpness, simplicity), but has nothing one does not need. It's not fancy; it's designed to do the job, and do it easily. It will be on my belt when I'm in a real backwoods situation, when my life might depend on what's on my belt. Lesser knives will be available for food prep, but the S1 X knife will be there as a potential life saver. I like everything about it, including the well-designed sheath, which leaves the knife available for use, but can also lock it tight.

I Can Only Say "Wow"
If it took ten stars to list a product as fabulous, I would give ten stars to this X-Knife. Yeah, it looks simple, but what does one need, besides a very sharp and strong blade, a comfortable handle and a functional sheath? This X-Knife has all three, and inspires me with a flood of confidence.If this isn't the best survival knife in its blade length, show me a better one. This seems fabulous. The laminated cobalt steel is sharp, and should be up to any task. The blade thickness is superior, as is the balance. Also very good is the sheath, which can lock the knife in or not. Goldilocks might have called this blade length "just right." All in all, the knife is brutally simple in its beauty.The two-way safety/release of the sheath can be described as cumbersome, but I like it. If I'm in a situation where I might need the knife in my hand as quickly as possible, I can set the sheath to release pressure on the knife, or I can simply carry the knife in my hand. I like that Fallkniven made the spine at a 80-degree angle, to best accommodate fire steel usage.Kudos to Fallkniven for the design and execution, and kudos to Knife Center for making the S1 X-knife available at a great price.Buy one; you'll love it too, and feel ready for anything.

Super survival knife
This is a knife made with 21st century materials and old world quality. The San Mal cobalt steel is excellent. The tungsten carbide coating is the best and toughest I have ever seen. This knife has everything one needs in a pure and simple package. My only complaint is the original edge sucks! Although that was easily rectified. I live in Tennessee where we have very liberal knife laws, anything and everything is ok. So I am carrying it as my EDC. I've been using it for 2 months now and MY edge just needs weekly stropping to keep it hair popping. I have not marked the coating of in the least. My humble recommendation is if you want a top shelf survival knife this is it! Purchase one you will not be sorry.
