SENS210074: S21007-4 Sachse Flipper Knife - Jade G10

Sencut Knives

The Sachse is Sencut Knives' breakout model, winning the Best Buy of the Year award at the 2022 BLADE Show in Atlanta, and it's no surprise that this knife definitely deserved the award. With arguably the most opening options of any Sencut knife, the Sachse opens lightning fast with either the thumb studs, flipper tab, or with the push-button and a slight wrist flick. The jade G10 handles are nicely machined and contoured to fit the hand, providing a very secure grip. The flipper tab doubles as a protruding finger guard while the blade is open, offering an additional level of security, so you can use this for any job large or small. The satin drop point blade features a sharpening choil and 3.25" worth of cutting edge. The 9Cr18MoV blade is easy to sharpen and has decent edge retention, so with intermittent maintenance/sharpening, this blade will serve you well for years to come.

Cons: Handle Feel
Awesome value for the price 4.5-ish
I was a little hesitant on this knife at first, but after carrying it for several weeks and putting it through some decently hard use in my day to day work. The action is super snappy, crisp, and easy to manipulate with the flipper stud. The lock works and releases the blade easily. The blade cuts well, and has maintained an edge fairly well also. I have touched up the blade lightly with a stone and a leather strop 2-3 times in the last month when I was using this more regularly. It's not flashy, and it doesn't try to pretend to be a super high-end blade, which I really appreciate. It's a budget friendly competent slicing knife that has a good classic look and feel. The one thing I would point out is the backstrap is fairly open. If you're working on an especially tough cutting target, and having to really grip the handle hard, it can bite into the meat of your palm slightly. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars, and really it should be more like 4.5 out of 5.If you wear light gloves, the backstrap thing isn't a problem, but I feel like plenty of manufacturers have come up with ways to fill that space to avoid exactly this problem, and still maintain a similar price point. So it's solvable, if they should so choose.
